Oh dear…what have I done?

Have you seen a Dear Jane quilt before? I have. Even up close and personal. I have quilted several of them before and I know how intricate the 169 little 4 1/2 inch blocks are. Not to mention the 52 edging triangles. Or the 4 corner blocks. Or over 5000 pieces that goes into it.

They are a LOT of work.

A LOT (worth repeating)

In fact, twice while I was quilting one Dear Jane quilt, I had a different client call and book in another. I used to say they were jinxed. you can bet I tried to keep it on the down low when I had one in for quilting lest more showed up.

So, why oh why did I make the decision to make my own? Whyyyy?

Hmmm... Because I like a challenge? I want maximum entertainment from minimal fabric? I don’t quite know?

So I gave a block or two a little go.

Dear Jane block A-01

Dear Jane block A-02

These little blocks…all different… are quite addictive. These are foundation pieced by machine. Some people use English paper piecing, but I don’t really enjoy hand-sewing. Which is a big joke because lots of these blocks have a appliqué on them. Which I am going to have to learn now.

You can see that these are non-traditional colours. I will elaborate more on my plans soon.
