Q. What can I expect when I have my quilt quilted?

A. You can expect clear communication, personalised quilting design advice for your quilt, professional quality quilting, and capped return postage to anywhere in Australia. We also carry quality natural fibre batting for great results.

Q. Capped price postage in Australia. What's the deal?

A. As you know, Australia is a big country and not everyone has a professional quilter in the neighbourhood. You can access my services from anywhere in Australia knowing that your quilt will be taken care of, quilted by me, an experienced professional quilter, and returned to you promptly. Postage will be capped at $20 and free for quilting costs over $500 (including multiple quilts). No need for appointments, or taking your quilt further than the local post office.

Q. You say you are an international award-winning quilter. What have you won?

A. Check out my awards page here.

Q. How do I know what type of quilting my quilt needs?

A. Just ask! I would love to see photos of your quilt and hear its story. Don't hesitate to get in touch and ask for advice. I will give you a range of options based on your needs and budget. Not every quilt needs custom quilting and, together, we will be able to decide what works best for you, and your quilt.

Q. Can fullness be 'quilted out'?

A. Experience has taught me that minor fullness can be ‘quilted out’ using a variety of techniques. I am happy to work with your quilt and help by providing tips that can help in the future. One of the joys of quilting has been seeing my clients develop over the years of their quilt-making journey.

Q. Hand-guided, computerised…what’s the deal?

A. A quilt can be quilted with either technique. The difference is that hand-guided quilting gives an original and personal result that is like the quilter’s signature. Even when they are following a pattern, there are little variations in the quilting. Therefore, each quilt is unique. Computerised quilting can deliver very consistent results, particularly for edge-to-edge quilting. Each method has a place and you should consider the look you are going for with your quilt.

MishMash Quilts offers computerised edge-to-edge quilting along with freehand edge-to-edge, and hand-guided custom. Michele has 20 years of quilting experience. Please be sure to connect with me to discuss your quilting needs.
