Finger Paints Quilt - Part 1
Hi there. It’s me. It’s been a few minutes since I posted. I have been out travelling for a little bit including an impulse road trip to Tasmania, which was lovely. I’ll have to share some photos soon.
I have been quilting some client quilts but I can’t share just yet. My Dear Jane remains an ongoing project so I will post periodic updates when I have more than a few blocks to share.
In the meantime, I discovered the Finger Paints quilt pattern by QuiltFort Co. it was instant love. Very much out of my normal colour zone. To my surprise, I had enough of a stash to cut this baby out.
The quilt is made from pretty standard bear paw blocks, but with a fantastic colour arrangement that I would never come up with on my own. The original was improv pieced but this time I wanted to piece it methodically. I enjoy that process. It’s soothing to me.
I have finished the blocks for row 1 (of 3). I am loving how this is turning out so far and have begun to contemplate which colour I am going to use for the quilting.
I’m rocking along with piecing this quilt. I’ll need to get some backing if I’m going to quilt it soon…
